m    Founding Objectives

Since its foundation, the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has specialized in engineering and technical courses, and has, in  recent years, accomplished outstanding achievement in terms of faculty staff development, equipment acquisition and facility construction, international exchanges, academic seminars and discussions, and competitions. These accomplishements have developed the STUST into a well-respected technology university.

At present, in addition to avid efforts in cultivating technology professionals, STUST has also taken a path towards becoming a fine university respected for its developments in humanities and technologies, internationalization policies, and excellent information technology; hence the construction of the STUST Art Center in 2005. These facilities are dedicated to provide a space for art exhibit shows, as well as art education and entertainment.

m    Profile of the Art Center

The Art Center is located at the Arts and Humanities Building. The first floor holds the exhibit hall, whereas the second floor serves as the storage facility.

The exhibit hall has an area of 290 level ground. It contains the main exhibit hall, the special exhibit rooms, and the multimedia presentation room. The exhibit area was constructed under a humanized and functional design. It not only allows the exhibitor to display artworks at their best (paintings or solid art objects), but also provides art viewers with a pleasant and tranquil room to appreciate the beauty of art.

m    Exhibits

The Art Center periodically invite artists to display their works at the art center, as well as provide private organizations and individuals with a venue for their exhibit needs. For more information, please contact the Art Center office.

m    Prospects

The Art Center gradually encourages exhibit shows displaying artworks of ethnic and renowned international artists or performing groups. In the future, the Art Center shall announce art news and information updates through the Internet and publication materials; such as, introduction and guided reading materials in art journals and books; introduction of art website information. We hope to employ a diversity of methods to broaden the scope of our services.
